How to plan yearly Bullet Journal set up

Bullet Journal is basically a dotted notebook where you can design it to plan out your day, month and year. Bullet Journal is a beautiful blend of art and productivity.  As a master procrastinator, I have delayed many tasks for many years which is why I decided to adopt a smart system that forces me to get out of my comfy couch to take actions to complete the tasks I needed to do. Bullet Journal helps with mental and physical health.

You don’t need fancy Journals, water colours or artistic skills to bullet journal. All you need is a diary and a pen or pencil. There are many types of bullet journal styles but mainly an artistic style and another is minimalistic journal style. I believe I style my bullet journal as a mixture of minimalist art style. Mainly, because I don’t consider myself an artist. I cannot imagine and I can only follow images to create something in the most simplistic manner. Main function for my bullet journal is to keep me accountable on my tasks.

To design Bullet Journal there are many page styles available and which pages to use or not to use depends on your personality and habits. Here’s the list of some of the pages that can be used most commonly:

Keys
  1. Keys: This page basically contains icons for your notes, events and tasks which you can use to notate your data in the following pages. For example, most common symbol for a task is bullet point and so when you are writing your task you can start your sentence with bullet points. As shown below,
  • Pick up Jane from school at 4pm
  • Send return package at Shoppers drug mart before 8pm
CoverPage
  1. Cover Page: I like to announce the year on the first or second page of my diary so I can track the journals based on the year.
Future Log
  1. Future Log: This page is very useful to track your important tasks, events and activities throughout the years if you are someone who has their whole year or months planned out in advance. It also helps in keeping tracks of your yearly highlights and important days. For example, birthdays of your family members.
Goal of the year
  1. Goal for the Year: It is good practice to pen down your goals so you can stay accountable. There are many ways to write goals like writing monthly, quarterly or yearly goals. I prefer to also write down deadline so I can stay accountable and work toward achieving my goals.
Monthly Log
  1. Monthly Calendar: You can design a monthly calendar each month following the weekly planners for each month. The calendar can be mini or maximized based on how often you must book your calendar for tasks or events.
Weekly log
  1. Weekly Planner: You can track your weekly tasks, events and notes on this planner page.

There are many other page styles that people incorporate based on their habits and requirements. For example, I have monthly mood and exercise tracker. Book and Game log to check how often I dedicate my time towards these hobbies. For information check out, Bullet Journal by Ryder Carroll, the founder of Bullet Journal.
